Some do extensive screening, interviewing, provide them with CPR certifications, vs. some do virtually nothing for their fee. Consider trying the “word of mouth” network to find someone. Approach nannies you see at your local playground, library story hour, or where ever and ask if they know of someone. Ask friends, staff members, nurses, etc that you know have kids, to see if they know of anyone or to see if they have “outgrown” their nanny. After contacting a half dozen agencies, I also put up signs around my neighborhood and ended up finding my nanny that way. Good luck!
