I moved 5000 miles from Alaska to Erie, PA. There are no med schools in Alaska and the nearest one is in Seattle which is still 2000 miles. So not moving was not an option for me. I never though I would get into medical school so I applied everywhere in the country.
IT was very scary trying to find daycare and a good school for my kids. I maxed all my credit to move and have lived on a very tight budget to make ends meet. Went into credit counseling just to keep the payments down. I have maxed my student loans and after 4 years am finally able to breath financially.
You just have to bite the bullet and DO IT. Some of us don’t have the luxury of only applying to schools around “home”.
