Amazing, isn’t it? My mom had an abnormal colonoscopy a week or so ago, and next week she’s having her surgery. In those countries, she would probably happily accept a 6-12 month wait for that procedure (probably have waited that long for her screening colonoscopy, too), and would have been comforted by her friends and family having had a similar wait. But to us in the US, it would be so strange.
