Amazing Charts

Has anyone used the “Amazing Charts” electronic charting system? I just saw it profiled in Contemporary Peds and looked it up online, but it looks too good to be true! It looks like a good system, but costs only $500 and even offers a billing service for 4% of receipts.

I haven’t used it, but there are a couple of other places you could go to find out the positive and the negative aspects of this and other EMRs. There is a yahoo group called peds-infomatics. Go to yahoo.com and click on groups, then type peds-infomatics. It isn’t a very active group, but there is some good information out there, not just on EMRs but also good software for handhelds, etc. Another fantastic source for me has been Physicians Online. http://www.pol.net. There are many many discussion threads on EMRs there. It’s free to sign up, but you have to be a physician to be allowed to sign up.

BTW I haven’t read much that is negative about Amazing Charts.
