While reading some posts in the General Discussion forum I saw a question by a member named jmkobayashi and was interested in knowing the answer since it went unanswered. Can one pursue a bachelor’s in nursing and still apply to medical school? :scratchchin:

Yes, you can have an undergraduate degree in nursing and go to med school. However, make sure you have the prereqs Chem 1&2 Bio 1&2 Organic 1&2 and Physics 1&2. There is alot of variability among the quality of pre nursings science courses. Some programs have strong science background similar to premed and some programs do not.

For, example I am a pediatric nurse practitioner. My undergraduate degree is a BS with a major in nursing. Fortunately, my undergraduate science courses were strong. But as a nursing major i was not required to take physics. I had AP physics in highschool, but that was 20 yrs ago.
    Good Luck!
