Calculas & Kaplan review course

How important is calculas? The med school I intend to apply to does not require it. I am hoping to get into this school because of its close proximity and my husband’s job, but I know that applying to more schools will increase my chances of getting in and these other schools may require calc. Do you need it for the MCAT? Also, has anyone ever taken one of those Kaplan MCAT review courses? Are they helpful? I know they are pretty expensive.

You do not need calculus for the MCAT. If the school(s) you are interested in do not require it, I wouldn’t bother.

I took a Kaplan course & found it quite helpful (raised my score 10 points). You just have to be sure to take advantage of all of their resources and go to all of the classes & practice exams.
