My name is Ann. I am a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Pennsylvania in the department of sociology. I am working with a couple of people at the AAMC on a project investigating the role of institutional effects on the survival and promotion of female faculty at medical schools. We are specifically interested in how maternity leave and tenure clock stoppage policies affect the odds of promotion.

I am in the process of trying to collect information on the maternity leave and tenure policies at as many medical schools as possible. The truth is that this information is not as easily available on school web sites as I thought it might be. So I was hoping that any medical school faculty on this site might be willing to share stories about their schools’ policies and perhaps their experiences with these policies. You can send to ann@pop.upenn.edu. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.
