Hi,
I’ve been in practice for 6 1/2 years, working part-time (three days) since my daughter was born almost 6 years ago. In 7 months, I’m going to be joining another (currently full-time) physician in job-sharing. Does anyone have pointers from their own success or failure in job-sharing?

I did it for 9 months with another physician (peds) who had opened her own practice. We both worked 21/2 days. The schedule was great; the call was great. (we were in a call group with 3 others and we shared a call slot so it was 1 in 8.) But….I didn’t like the way she ran a business at all. Even though we were “equal,” I had no say in it. We were paid just on what we billed after insurance so she would have patients scheduled to see me called and rescheduled on her days.
I would be careful in your selection…it is like being married. Have things spelled out.
