HI I’m thinking about Neonatology as my specialty if I ever become a doctor. Has anyone looked into this feild of study if so please give me any information possible. Also anthing about OB/GYN or pediatrics.Thanks

Hi Kelli!

I am going into neonatology- it’s the only type of medicine that I’ve ever wanted to be involved in. I thought about OB/GYN for a split second- it is a really in-demand field, but I can’t imagine having to pay almost half of my salary on malpractice insurance!!!

Oddly, neonatologists are some of the better adjusted people I have seen in medicine….Long shifts but then yoiu get to disappear…and there isn’t really anything for you to do outside the hospital!
