Hi! I’m starting a solo/private practice and need advise on medical software. It’s expensive and I wondered if any of you have good/bad experiences. Any comments, thoughts, ideas, advise on setting up a new practice are appreciated! Thanks, Marlene

Dr Marlene–

First and foremost, get a package that you and your can learn and use. Good tech support is essential. There are a lot of good programs out there, but if someone isn’t available for you when things crash, it’s worthless. Periodically, you’ll need to update, so try to make this as easy for yourself as possible. Your specialty society may have guidance for you, as well as your local or state medical/osteopathic society.
