Am a hospital based mom-doc and make a very good salary all things considered. have only been out of fellowship for 1 yr, married to a great guy for 7 and have a 2.5 yr old. Hours are even reasonable, but hospital politics make me crazy and it seems the place will never run smoothly. Furthermore, my director (I am assoc.) is a man who truly likes me but has big time “little man syndrome” and gets majorly defensive when I challenge him (which admittedly I do). Two prior assoc. have already left because he cannot delegate anything and is disorganized so you have to ask and ask for everything (schedules, etc). I do not want his job, but I am sick of the b-s and would love to see my daughter more but can’t “afford” (with loans, mortgage, etc) to quit and not sure if they will ever go for a job-share if I was lucky enough to find someone.
