It seems that an issue for mommd’s that continues to come up again and again in the discussions here is a strong desire to find a part-time position as a physician in a family-supportive practice. Why is this so hard? Is it because practices are still so tightly controlled by older men (the kind with wives who “take care of everything at home”)?
I guess I am naive, but I just think with SO many women MD’s searching for these positions, somehow they should be able to link up and create some practices that fill these needs. Is this a “pie in the sky”? Any insights from physicians out there in the trenches would be appreciated.
