Why do you want a medical career?

Hey everyone,

For those of you thinking about medical school, and being a doctor, what is it about medicine that attracts you?

I’m in graduate school right now, and am thinking about med school. For me, the most exciting part is the idea of getting to work with patients, maybe use my scientific background in a way that would personally benefit others. I am also interested in health care policy.

What about others?
