Strategies for September and Beyond

Strategies for September and Beyond

School has started and it’s a busy time for families with children. September is also a time to get into the groove of a new, more productive schedule for the year. Time to hit the ground running and filled with energy and excitement. There will inevitable hurdles and detours that arise – you need to be prepared and be focused on where you’re going so that you don’t get distracted. Sometimes you may think you don’t even have a minute to catch your breath, stop and breathe, let alone think. I too know that feeling and want to share with you some strategies to help you get off to a good start this September and make it a successful year!

In order to achieve success, you have to have a plan – a blueprint of what success looks like to you. Set your goals high, based on your own definition of success and not swayed by others. Here are 6 essential keys to building success.

  • Define Success
What exactly does that mean for YOU? Bringing in X amount of dollars, more time at home with the family, or becoming well known as an expert in your field.. Write down your dream. If you could define success in your business, what would it be? Close your eyes, imagine for a moment and fully experience all the pieces that would make it truly a dream come true = success. Put those thoughts on paper for future reference. Now before you get all freaked out and think. “That’s all great, but I have a LONG way to go” Take a breather – you now have in front of you a long range goal and a vision of where you are headed- you have a destination and will not be going in circles!
  • Desire
Desire is essential for carrying you through the journey ahead no matter how long that leads you to your dream. Take time NOW to make sure you have a driven desire and passion for what you’re doing. A deep down burning desire that is near and dear to your heart and holds significance. When you’re devoting yourself and putting in your time, energy and finances to your business, you need to be passionate about it or you’ll run out of steam. You need something that gets you motivated to get out of bed in the morning, and be eager and willing to take those next steps. Bottom line – Do what you enjoy and enjoy what you do!
  • Set Goals
You need to have a road map that takes you from where you are now to where you want to go. So you need short AND long-range goals.
Start with a timeline from now through 1 year
    Now———-x———————x———–x——————–1 Year
Set clear and specific goal you want to accomplish.

Thoughts and Challenges

If you’re ready to begin your year off right, take some time to sit down and write down the above steps and fill in your own thoughts and plans. Try to find a quiet place where you can put in some quality think time and develop a clear focus and plan that will carry you through the year. Once this is completed, post it somewhere where you can see it and be reminded of YOUR goals.
